Paso Robles boxer wins majority decision in ESPN debut

With this win, Subia improves his record to 4-0 with three knockouts

    – Atascadero and Paso Robles boxer JJ Subia earned a majority decision victory in his ESPN debut on April 3 at Pechanga Resort & Casino, fighting under Manny Pacquiao Promotions.

Subia defeated previously undefeated Francisco Casillas (3-0) of Maywood Boxing, handing Casillas his first professional loss. With the win, Subia improves his record to 4-0 with three knockouts.

The event was headlined by a minimumweight world title bout between Taduran and Perez. Subia’s fight appeared on the undercard, which also featured Manny Pacquiao’s son.Subia said, “I would have never imagined being on such a huge event — fighting on the undercard of a world championship and alongside Manny Pacquiao’s son. Especially considering I only started boxing at 17 and I’m now 22, it just shows how far I’ve come in a short time.”

Subia trains at Goat Shack Boxing in Paso Robles.
