Suspect prevented victim from leaving home, poured gasoline on her car

    – San Luis Obispo police arrested a Lake Havasu, Arizona, man on domestic violence and related charges on April 10 after responding to a disturbance on the 900 block of Valecito.

Officers were dispatched at 10:47 p.m. after a reporting party told dispatch she and her boyfriend had been drinking and got into an argument that turned physical. The boyfriend had left the property, and she believed he had guns in his possession.

An officer contacted the suspect by phone — later identified as Travis Pease, 35 — who had walked away from the property. Because it was unconfirmed whether Pease had weapons, authorities sent a Reverse 911 alert to nearby residents directing them to shelter in place.

Through continued conversation with Pease, the officer determined he was walking up Prefumo Canyon Road and relayed that information to other responding officers, who located and detained Pease a short time later.

Officers found several firearms and brass knuckles in Pease’s car, which was parked at the Valecito home. Further investigation determined Pease had pushed the female several times, prevented her from leaving the house, and poured juice and gasoline on her car.

Pease was booked into San Luis Obispo County jail on two felony charges — false imprisonment with force and vandalism — and two misdemeanor charges: domestic battery and possession of brass knuckles. He is being held with no bail and is not being offered the opportunity to bond out of custody.
