Crews respond to apartment fire in Paso Robles
– Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a reported fire alarm at an apartment building at 1134 Black Oak Drive on Thursday, April 16, at approximately 7:53 p.m.
The initial call was upgraded to a full structure fire response after additional callers reported the incident. First arriving firefighters found no visible smoke but observed active water flow from a first-floor apartment sprinkler system.
Firefighters conducted a search of the apartment and located two dogs in a bathroom. The animals were removed and turned over to the Paso Robles Police Department until the owner could be located.
Officials said the fire was contained to a single first-floor apartment. Crews remained at the scene until approximately 9:48 p.m., assisting building owners with removing water and salvaging contents to prevent further damage.
Two engines, one truck, one squad unit, and one battalion chief from Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded. Under an automatic aid agreement, one engine and one battalion chief from Cal Fire San Luis Obispo County also assisted. A total of 12 firefighters responded to the incident. The Paso Robles Police Department also assisted.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
