Obituary of Margie Lou Turley, 78

    – Margie Lou Turley, age 78, passed away on January 11, 2026, in Paso Robles, California. Born on December 19, 1947, Margie was known for her kind nature and joyful spirit. Even through 13+ years of health challenges, she lived with strength and resilience. She had a remarkable gift for remembering names and made everyone feel special, often greeting others with a warm “sweetie,” “baby,” or “love” among others. To know Margie was to experience genuine kindness.

Margie’s life was centered around her family, whom she loved so deeply. She was the devoted wife of Dennis Turley, her “rock,” and together they shared 58 years of marriage built on love and incredible devotion. Their strong bond created the foundation for a close and loving family.

She was a proud mother to her four children: Kim Van Patten, Krista Langston, D.J. Turley, and Katie Burnett. Margie also welcomed her “bonus sons” – Willy Van Patten, Kirk Langston, Jon Burnett – and her “bonus daughter,” Athen Turley, with open arms, loving each of them as her own.

Margie found great joy in her growing family. She was a cherished grandmother to 16 grandchildren – Aaron, Matthew, Kaylee, Andrew, Seth, Austyn, Caleb, Chelsea, Hailey, Grant, Zachary, Eian, Owen, AJ, Jackson, and Josie – and a proud great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren. Each one brought her immense happiness, and she took great pride in the lives they were building.

She also had a love for fashion, especially purses and shoes, always taking pride in looking her best.

Margie will be remembered as kind, joyful, and full of life. A woman who made the world brighter simply by being in it. Her presence was a gift, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She passed away following complications from RSV, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25th at 10:00 AM at Highlands Church in Paso Robles. All are welcome to join in honoring and remembering her beautiful life.
