New bridge construction starts on Chimney Rock Road 

Work expected to finish in winter 2026

– San Luis Obispo County Public Works has begun construction on a permanent two-lane bridge on Chimney Rock Road at Franklin Creek near Fawn Lane, replacing an existing one-lane steel bridge.

The project is being completed in coordination with Granite Construction Inc.

A traffic detour is in place during construction, with a posted speed limit of 15 mph.

Construction is expected to be completed in winter 2026.
