Paso Robles winery wins top honors at London competition
Winery earns four gold medals at international competition
– Le Vigne Winery in Paso Robles received multiple awards at the 2026 International London Wine Competition, including Winery of the Year U.S.A. and Wine of the Year U.S.A. for its Acquarello Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, according to information released April 22 in London.
The Paso Robles-based winery earned four gold medals at the competition. Organizers said the judging panel evaluates wines on quality, value, and packaging, measuring performance beyond taste alone.
The International London Wine Competition, now in its ninth year, scores entries using three weighted criteria: quality, value, and packaging. Wines are first blind-tasted by a panel of trade professionals, including wine buyers, master sommeliers, and masters of wine, before price and packaging are considered. Quality is given double weight in the final score calculation.
“Winning a medal here means your wine performs across taste, value, and shelf appeal, making it a strong contender in both domestic and international markets,” said Sid Patel, chief executive officer of the London Wine Competition.
“The authority of a London Wine Competition award comes from the quality of the judges, the rigor of the process, and the fact that it reflects what consumers and buyers actually want. We’re thrilled that Le Vigne performed so well,” said Phillip Anderson, general manager of the winery.
Le Vigne Winery planted its first estate grapes in 1982. The winery was built in 1995 and produces Bordeaux, Rhone, and Italian varietals.
