    – Glen Speck Elementary School announced the appointment of Stormy Capalare as student engagement specialist.

Capalare has worked in the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District since 2018. She currently serves as lead teacher for the Paso Robles Independent Study Center homeschool program, where she works with students, families, and staff.

The student engagement specialist role performs the responsibilities of an assistant principal. Elementary schools in the district are staffed with a principal and a student engagement specialist. The role focuses on school safety and managing student behavior.

Capalare has experience in social-emotional learning and has provided professional development to educators on social-emotional learning and Positive Discipline. She has also worked with families to provide tools to support relationships and student behavior.

Principal Stephenie Walker said, “We are delighted to have Stormy Capalare joining the Glen Speck team. Her deep commitment to our district and her specialized knowledge in SEL and family partnership make her an invaluable addition. She understands that students learn best when they feel connected, supported, and valued, and we look forward to the positive impact she will have on our school community.”

“I am truly grateful for the opportunity to continue my work within PRJUSD in this new capacity,” Capalare said. “My passion has always been creating environments where every child can thrive. I look forward to partnering with the families and staff at Glen Speck to ensure that every student feels a deep sense of belonging and engagement at our school.”

    Capalare will begin July 27.
