Ravine Waterpark celebrates 20th anniversary milestone season with new additions

Waterpark expands cabanas, dining, and family entertainment offerings

    – Ravine Waterpark is celebrating its 20th anniversary season with new attractions, expanded amenities, and a full lineup of summer events in Paso Robles.

Originally founded by local partners Jay Walsh, John Pehl, and Brett Butterfield, the park opened in 2007 on Airport Road after several years of planning, permitting, and construction. The waterpark was designed as a family-focused outdoor recreation space and has grown from projected attendance of about 400 guests per day to hosting up to 2,000 guests on peak summer days.

To mark the anniversary season, the park unveiled two new attractions. Splash Lagoon has been transformed with an interactive waterslide structure and multiple new slides, including a four-person racer slide. The Cove, scheduled to open mid-summer, will include a splashless pool, hot tub area, upgraded cabanas, expanded bar offerings, and an elevated dining menu.

The park also added premium cabana experiences featuring front-section parking, complimentary WiFi, private refrigeration, lockable storage, water bottles, snacks, discounts at Bongos retail store, and a Ravine tote with items including towels, goggles, and mini golf passes.

“Reaching 20 years is an incredible milestone for Ravine Waterpark,” said Brett Butterfield, partner and co-owner of Ravine Waterpark since 2007. “We are proud to be part of the Paso Robles community and to continue creating a space where families can gather, celebrate, and make lasting memories.”

The season celebration begins with a 20th Anniversary Party scheduled for Sunday, May 17, from noon to 5 p.m. Season passholders will receive complimentary admission, while a limited number of public tickets will cost $20. The event will include live Hawaiian music at the Tiki Bar, a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Splash Lagoon, birthday cupcakes, and park-wide festivities. Guests will also receive discounts on cabanas, food and beverages with cabana rentals, and Bongos purchases, along with complimentary water, $2 specialty drinks, and slushie samples.

The waterpark’s 2026 season will also feature a summer singing competition series held on Tuesday evenings in June, a murder mystery dinner event, a Fourth of July celebration weekend, Mermaid Day, Christmas in July, Pirates and Princess Day, and a Labor Day luau.

Ravine Waterpark employs more than 300 local high school and college students each summer and operates seasonally as a tourism destination on the Central Coast.

“As a community partner in Paso Robles, we’re committed to continuing to evolve the waterpark as a destination for both locals and travelers,” said Steven Gifford, general manager at Ravine Waterpark. “We prioritize safety and maintenance at every level while focusing on delivering a high quality guest experience, from attractions to food, beverage, and events, all designed to showcase the best of our community.”

The park has also added upgraded technology systems, improved parking, expanded shaded areas, and additional amenities as part of ongoing improvements. More information is available at https://ravinewaterpark.com.
