A 41-year-old Paso Robles man identified as Mack Garcia, who was seated in the front passenger seat, sustained minor injuries.
Pate sustained major injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Due to his injuries, he was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Templeton Area office.
