Election will fill two seats beginning in December 2026
– Templeton Community Services District is seeking candidates to fill two seats on its Board of Directors in the Nov. 3 election.
The district provides water, sewer, fire and emergency services, solid waste, parks and recreation, as well as limited drainage and street lighting services for approximately 8,000 residents.
According to the district, board members establish policies, define priorities, set utility rates, and oversee the use of tax dollars related to district services.
The Board of Directors consists of five members serving staggered four-year terms. The board meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Board members may also serve on committees or represent the district on regional agencies or commissions.
Board members receive $150 per day for meetings or training, up to a maximum of $600 per month.
According to the district, board members are not required to have experience related to district services, but are expected to review meeting materials, prepare for meetings, and work with other board members, district staff, residents, and businesses.
The two available seats will carry four-year terms beginning in December 2026. Candidates must be registered voters and reside within district boundaries.
The nomination period for declaration of candidacy forms runs from July 13 through Aug. 7. Interested candidates must call the County of San Luis Elections Office at (805) 781-5228 to schedule an appointment to obtain nomination papers.
