Inaugural Contractors Cornhole Showdown tournament coming to Atascadero in June
Tournament proceeds will support adaptive recreation programs
– The inaugural Contractors Cornhole Showdown tournament is scheduled for June 6 at the Sunken Gardens in Downtown Atascadero.
The event will feature cornhole competition throughout the day, with proceeds benefiting the North County Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program and the Builders Exchange of the Central Coast Scholarship Program.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. for teams participating in the tournament. Team entry is $80 for two-person teams.
The four-game round robin tournament is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bracket play begins at 2 p.m.
Tournament organizers said trophies and cash prizes will be awarded for first through third place in the advanced, competitive, social, and adaptive divisions.
Additional activities during the event will include long toss, airmail, and knock-out cornhole games. Organizers said those games will have a $10 buy-in, along with trophies and cash prizes for winners.
The event will also include raffles and a 50/50 drawing.
Food vendors at the event will include Dave’s Dog, serving biscuits and gravy for breakfast, along with hot dogs and polish sausages for lunch. Huatulco Tacos will offer breakfast and a full lunch menu. Attendees may also visit restaurants in Downtown Atascadero within walking distance of the event.
Organizers said the event is free for the public to attend.
