Hospital to host cancer wellness fair June 6
– Adventist Health Sierra Vista will host its fourth annual Cancer Patient and Survivor Wellness Fair on Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the hospital auditorium and outpatient courtyard.
The free event will feature more than 20 vendors providing resources for people living with cancer, cancer survivors, and those supporting individuals with cancer. Attendees will also have access to guidance from oncology nurses, dietitians, physical therapists, and social workers.
The fair will include a free lunch and a presentation by Neeta Mittal, founder of LXV Wine & Pairings and grower at Armaa.N Vineyard.
According to event organizers, Mittal will lead an interactive session focused on taste, aroma, and sensory experiences through the exploration of spices and flavor profiles. The presentation will examine how changes in spice and seasoning can affect the sensory experience and palate.
The event will take place at Adventist Health Sierra Vista, 1010 Murray Ave., in San Luis Obispo. Doors open at 11 a.m., and lunch and the speaker presentation begin at noon.
The wellness fair is open to cancer patients, survivors, and anyone supporting those with cancer. Advance registration is encouraged to reserve lunch at AdventistHealthCentralCoast.org/CancerFair.
