    Templeton CHP office gains first female officer in decades 

    – The Templeton office of the California Highway Patrol has welcomed Officer Knight, the first female officer assigned to the office in nearly 20 years.

    According to the agency, Officer Knight earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in education and community leadership from San Jose State University.

    Before attending the California Highway Patrol Academy, she taught local youth through the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County.

    Officer Knight also served as a youth choir director and organist. She plays both piano and organ and studied music in Guadalajara, Mexico. She completed formal training in Gregorian chant at the Diocesan Superior School of Sacred Music.

    The agency said she continues to share her musical talents in her free time while serving the community in her role as a highway patrol officer.
