Award recognizes hospitality and visitor engagement

    – Maggie Tillman of Alta Colina Vineyard & Winery received the Visitor Experience Award in the winery category during Travel Paso’s 2026 Hospitality & Tourism Awards.

The award was presented during the third annual Tourism Round Up on May 7 at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom.

The awards recognize businesses and individuals for contributions to the visitor economy in the Paso Robles region.

According to Travel Paso, Tillman received the award for her approach to social media marketing and guest experience. The organization said her efforts connect digital engagement with the in-person winery experience by reaching younger audiences online and carrying that accessibility into the tasting room.

Travel Paso said Tillman’s approach focuses on making wine approachable, reducing barriers for visitors, and creating an environment that helps guests better understand wine, the land, and the people behind it.

“Paso Robles has given our family so much, and this one genuinely caught me off guard. The Visitor Experience award means a lot because it gets at something I care about: that wine shouldn’t require a secret handshake. Hospitality at Alta Colina has always been about making sure every person who walks onto the property feels like they belong here, whether they can name every grape we grow or they’re just figuring out that they like red wine. Wine is better when it’s shared, and the more people feel invited into that, the better. Getting recognized by this community for that really means a lot,” Tillman said.

Travel Paso hosts the Tourism Round Up annually to bring together tourism industry leaders, partners, and stakeholders to recognize achievements and discuss the region’s visitor economy.

“This year’s award recipients exemplify the dedication and passion that make Paso Robles a premier destination,” said Stacie Jacob, president and chief executive officer of Travel Paso. “Thank you for elevating hospitality in Paso Robles and fulfilling the guest promise. You make Paso proud.”
