Ava Hotel receives Hilton development honor

Award highlights Paso Robles property’s debut within Hilton collection

    – The Ava Hotel Paso Robles, Curio Collection by Hilton has been recognized in Hilton’s 2025 Americas Development Awards, earning the distinction of Best New Build within the Curio Collection by Hilton portfolio.

The award recognizes owners, development partners, and hotel teams for excellence in development, design innovation, and contributions to their communities.

“On behalf of our development team and ownership group, The Ava Hotel is deeply honored to be recognized by Hilton with this distinction,” said Matt Kleefisch, general manager. “This award reflects the intentionality behind the project from day one, to create a hospitality destination that blends contemporary design with an authentic sense of place here in Paso Robles. The Curio Collection by Hilton allows for that individuality, enabling each property to tell a story rooted in its surroundings.”

According to the hotel, the project reflects a long-term ownership vision focused on the continued growth of Paso Robles as a hospitality destination.

“The Ava Hotel has quickly established itself as a dynamic addition to the region’s hospitality landscape and is poised to become the culinary mecca of California’s Central Coast,” said Alvaro Fraile, chief executive officer of Azul Hospitality. “This recognition is a testament to the strength of the ownership vision, the collaborative development process, and the team’s commitment to delivering a best-in-class guest experience.”

Located near downtown Paso Robles, the hotel offers guest accommodations, dining venues, event spaces, retail shops, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations.

The hotel opened in August 2025 and is owned by a joint venture between Paso Robles Hotel Partners and Peachtree Group. Studio Sinclair led the design in collaboration with HBA. Azul Hospitality manages the 151-room property.

The hotel features three dining venues: EMRE, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant concept developed by local chef Julien Asseo; Pine Street Bistro; and Esperanza on the Rooftop, a rooftop bar and poolside lounge. The property also includes more than 6,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
