Youth golf program returns to Paso Robles courses

Program aims to connect more young people with golf

    – Bank of America has launched the second year of its Golf with Us program, offering youth ages 6-18 access to free one-year memberships through Youth on Course and rounds of golf for $5 or less at participating courses nationwide.

In Paso Robles, Paso Robles Golf Club and Hunter Ranch are participating in the program.

The initiative is available across Bank of America’s 97 markets and is designed to make golf more accessible and affordable for young people. Participants receive a free one-year membership through Youth on Course, which provides access to discounted tee times at thousands of participating courses.

According to organizers, nearly 50 children from San Luis Obispo County joined Golf with Us during its first year and played nearly 70 rounds of golf.

Nationwide, nearly 100,000 young people participated in the inaugural year of the program, with members logging more than 100,000 rounds of golf. Participants came from every state, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. More than 22,000 participants were girls, including many first-time golfers.

Bank of America said it hopes to enroll 150,000 youth participants this year.

“Sports can do so much for kids, from instilling leadership and life skills to healthier habits. Its why our ‘Golf with Us’ program has been so successful in its first year,” said Sherri Anderson, Inland Empire president for Bank of America. “By making this very popular sport more affordable and accessible, we can help the next generation of young athletes achieve success on and off the course.”

The program also plans to offer Golf with Us clinics in 25 markets focused on skill development and life lessons for young participants.

New benefits for participants this year include $5 golf simulator rentals and free lessons from PGA professionals through participating partners.

Parents in Paso Robles have until Monday, June 15, to register their children.
