    – Nasha Zulieka Kulihaapai, our beloved Ma, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 68. She was born on August 31, 1957, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Inocencio Alva and Virginia Pacheco.

Nasha had an infectious laugh, a loving heart, and a gift for making people feel welcome. She enjoyed getting to know people and rarely met a stranger. Music was always one of her joys, and she loved sharing her favorite songs with those around her. To many friends and family members, she was a second mom, and her home was a place where people felt like family. A descendant of one of San Luis Obispo County’s long-established families, Nasha cherished the generations of history, family, and community that tied her to the area.

Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, sharing stories, and making memories. She loved to cook, and her homemade tortillas were a family favorite. For Nasha, feeding people was one of the many ways she showed her love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sione Kulihaapai, who passed away on June 29, 2024.

Nasha is survived by her children, Anissa Gutierrez; Etoni and Jessica Tonga; Isalei and Matt Fauset; and Veisinia Kulihaapai; her cherished grandchildren, John Eric, Vincent, Liliola, Gavian, and Deon; Melisilei, Milika, Meliame, Etoni Jr., Mililani, Tu’i, and To’a; Tiana, Abby, Marshall, Lisiate, and Andrew; and Shawn Wright, whom she loved as a son, his wife Taryn, and their children, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nasha found comfort and peace in her knowledge of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. While she is missed more than words can express, we find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Sione, her parents, and the many loved ones who passed before her.

Her family will remember her laugh, her tortillas, her favorite songs, and the way she made everyone feel like they belonged. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
