Man falls through ceiling during break-in at historic home
– A man was arrested on suspicion of felony commercial burglary after police responding to an alarm at the Jack House found him in the attic of the historic property.
The San Luis Obispo Police Department responded at approximately 2 p.m. June 11 to an alarm activation at the Jack House, 536 Marsh St. The alarm company reported motion activation on the second floor of the building.
As officers checked the perimeter, they discovered a broken window. Police said the window had been smashed with a large rock.
Officers entered the building and, while making their way to the second floor, observed a man partially fall through the ceiling from the attic. The man was later identified as Blake Aubrey Robertson, 35, a transient in San Luis Obispo.
Police ordered Robertson to come down from the attic using an access ladder and took him into custody without incident.
Robertson was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries police said he sustained from broken window glass and from falling through the ceiling.
After receiving treatment, Robertson was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of felony commercial burglary.
