– The Adoptable Pet of the Week this week is Chick-O-Stick, available for adoption through North County Paws Cause.
Chick-O-Stick is a young adult male cat, estimated to be about 1 year old. He was found as a stray near the highway and brought into rescue after no owner came forward during his stray hold.
He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and described as friendly, curious, and affectionate. Chick-O-Stick enjoys playing with other cats and has shown a calm demeanor around dogs, making him a potential fit for a multi-pet household. After playtime, he enjoys curling up beside his people for cuddles.
Chick-O-Stick is FIV positive, or feline immunodeficiency virus. According to North County Paws Cause, cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives with routine veterinary care, good nutrition, and an indoor lifestyle. FIV is not contagious to humans or dogs and is primarily spread between cats through deep bite wounds.
