Democracy documentary coming to Park Cinemas
Director Bobby Roth will answer audience questions during a winery event
– Indivisible North SLO County and the Paso Robles Democratic Club will present a screening of the documentary “Lightworkers” on July 26 in Paso Robles, followed by a live Zoom question-and-answer session with director Bobby Roth.
The documentary follows 35 Americans, including Congressman Jamie Raskin, activist David Hogg, and writer Robert Hubbell, as they respond to challenges facing democratic institutions.
The screening begins at 12:30 p.m. at Paso Robles Park Cinemas. Hubbell will provide a prerecorded introduction for North San Luis Obispo County audiences. Tickets cost $5. Some reserved seats purchased online include a $1.50 surcharge.
A live Zoom question-and-answer session with Roth will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Via Vega Winery, 2378 Adobe Road. The discussion will be shown on an 18-foot screen. Admission is free. Seating is limited to 50 people, and attendees are asked to arrive by 3 p.m. Reservations are required by July 24.
Roth’s directing credits include the film “Independence Day” and television series including “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Miami Vice,” “Lost,” and “Hawaii Five-0.”
