Templeton seeks residents for tax oversight committee
– The Templeton Community Services District is seeking at least two residents to serve on its Measure A Oversight Committee.
The committee requires at least three members but currently has one. Applicants must live within the district’s boundaries and will serve initial two-year terms.
District voters approved Measure A in 2019, imposing a special annual parcel tax to fund 24-hour staffing for Templeton Fire and Emergency Services.
The committee independently reviews how the district spends parcel tax revenue and provides information to the public and the district’s Board of Directors. The committee also ensures that the district spends the revenue according to voters’ intentions.
The committee meets twice each year on an as-needed basis, typically during regular business hours.
Members must comply with the district’s Conflict of Interest Code and file a Statement of Economic Interests Form 700 with the California Fair Political Practices Commission. Information about the form is available in the Form 700 reference pamphlet.
Interested residents must submit an application by Sept. 7. The Board of Directors expects to select committee members during its Sept. 15 meeting.
Applications are available on the district’s website. Applicants may mail completed applications to P.O. Box 780, Templeton, CA 93465; deliver them to the district office at 420 Crocker St.; or email them to Board Clerk Kelsey Dodson at kdodson@templetoncsd.org.
