Teen dies, three others injured in Highway 1 crash
– A rollover crash killed a 15-year-old Morro Bay boy and injured three other teenagers on Highway 1 in Harmony just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to reports.
The vehicle struck a guardrail and an asphalt curb before rolling over, traveling down an embankment, striking a large rock, and overturning.
The crash ejected the 15-year-old, who was not wearing a seat belt. He died following the crash.
A 17-year-old Cambria girl who was not wearing a seat belt suffered major injuries. A 19-year-old Paso Robles woman who occupied the passenger seat suffered moderate injuries, while the 18-year-old driver suffered minor injuries, reports say.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to have contributed to the crash, reports say.
Highway 1 remained closed until 4 a.m. Saturday, during the investigation.
