SLO County Sheriff’s Deputies assist San Miguel horse owner and prevent tragedy
Following a report of a horse falling into a swimming pool and later being rescued by sheriff’s deputies at a home in San Miguel on Aug. 16, a spokesman with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the horse, Cupid, is expected to make a full recovery.

Meisler said that he and his wife had just retired for the night when they heard a large commotion in their backyard. Cupid, 11, had managed to escape its pen and wandered over to the couple’s covered pool. Apparently, Cupid had attempted to step on the pool cover, promptly fell in, and was injured in the process as his leg was sliced by a metal rail attached to the cover.

Cupid is now recuperating and is expected to make a full recovery.
