Police arrest suspected drug dealer after foot pursuit
On Saturday morning at about 11 a.m., Paso Robles Police Officers contacted 28-year-old Fresno resident Stephan Alan Brewer in the 1000 block of Park St. in Paso Robles. During the contact, Brewer suddenly ran from officers. During the foot pursuit, Brewer reached into his pockets and threw an object onto the ground as he ran. That object was located and was found to be a methamphetamine smoking pipe. Brewer was apprehended a short distance later without further incident.
The Paso Robles Police Department Special Enforcement Team assisted in the foot pursuit, and then went to the motel where Brewer had been staying. Since Brewer was on felony probation out of Fresno and San Luis Obispo Counties, his room was subject to search. Upon searching the room, SET Detectives located 3.8 ounces of methamphetamine, a 9mm handgun, and $1,500 in cash. The Atascadero Police Department’s
Special Enforcement team also assisted with this investigation.
Brewer was later transported to San Luis Obispo County Jail on the following charges:
Possession of controlled substance for sales (felony), felon in possession of a firearm (felony), resisting arrest (misdemeanor), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), probation violation.
