Council endorses street maintainence progress
On Tuesday evening, the Paso Robles City Council reviewed a report from the city’s Supplemental Tax Oversight Committee, which has funded several streets projects over the summer of 2014, with more in the works. According to city staff, the council has accomplished several projects since the passage of the sales tax increase in November 2012.

Rambouillet? Niblick to Nicklaus? Again? They already did that two years ago? They stopped at Nicklaus. Why not move from Nicklaus to Charolais? Better yet, why not replace Union Road from Golden Hill to Hwy 46? Fix the priorities. How about Spring all the way from off ramps north and south?
Hey guys what about Sherwood?sherwood road right outside of quail run needs paving bad!sherwood road is falling apart please make plans to pave it!?
Steet Maintenance in Paso Robles has been an absolute joke for the past 15 years! Maintenance on the medians is always slack and they wait till I'm about ready to get out of my car and pull the damn weeds myself before they get around to it. If there is one area that the city completely sucks at it is city Maintenance. So, what are they doing with our tax dollars????
It is on the list to be done within the next 18 months.
What about Union in front of Barney Schwartz Park?
Uh, hello! Where on this list is Jardine? Really, you are still arguing over to whom this road belongs? You've allowed a commercial venture to open it's doors in a residential area. You allow fully weighted grape trucks to use this residential road and have done nothing (and yes I call filling the same holes over and over again, nothing), to make this road into the highway level it needs to be for the safety of us all.
Thank you Fred! But what month is 18 month?
I wish a dump truck carrying a load of asphalt would overturn at the intersection of Ramada and 46 West. It has been in disrepair for over ten years!
Paso's management of funds supported by local tax payers if a complete joke! Criminal charges are required at some point and should begin now!!!!!!
Is a complete joke!
I believe you are very uninformed. Total repair and/or replacement where needed of all local roads, including regional ones within our boundaries, have an engineering cost estimate of $200 million. It takes a LONG time to acquire that kind of money from any source that is even potentially available unless we bond to our capacity for that purpose. We have already accomplished a lot since the State took away our portion of fuel sales tax money which we'd previously received every year for 50 years … thanks to the voters for an initiative, and the courts for a ruling, that caused Governor Schwarzenegger, with compliance by the Legislature, to yank those funds.
Truly, the street infrastructure improvements in town needs to be accelerated beyond the small handful listed. Council and staff need to understand that the quality of a towns infrastructure helps define how they feel about our quality of life. This should be priority #1.
I don't believe there is a single person who will read this article that doesn't know of some part of our Paso Robles streets that desperately need repair. My first instinct is to say, "Wait, what about…". I had to stop myself and look at what has been completed so far as well as what is earmarked to be completed. It is a hefty job and will take a long time to be fixed. I am thankful that process is now underway.
