Ten champions to be selected and celebrated in nationwide contest

If you would like to celebrate a special person that has made a difference in your life during your cancer journey or the journey of a loved one, you have until April 5 to nominate them as a Breakaway from Cancer Champion. Whether that person is a cancer survivor, a patient, a caregiver or an advocate they deserve to be celebrated.

“Our cancer patients, survivors, and their friends, families, and loved ones are all champions,” said Christie Kelly, Executive Director of The Cancer Support Community – California Central Coast. “This is a chance to help bring attention to all that they do and the strength they have shown. Whether you know someone locally in SLO County or someone from elsewhere in the United States that you would like to nominate I highly encourage that you do so.”

Ten Breakaway from Cancer Champions will be selected, attend, and be celebrated at the final weekend of the 10th Annual Amgen Tour of California as they join The Cancer Support Community and the Breakaway From Cancer partners. To enter, go to www.breakawayfromcancer.com and click on the Nominate a Champion contest link; nominations close April 5.

    More about Breakaway from Cancer
