Man dies in dirt bike accident near Paso Robles 

On Monday, 61-year-old Larry Dean McCracken of Atascadero died while riding a dirt bike north of Paso Robles. He was riding a 1975 Yamaha dirt bike on private property in the area north of Wellsona Road and west of Northstar Lane at an unknown speed when he lost control of the motorcycle, according to California Highway Patrol.

McCracken was ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries, the CHP reported. He was located by a passerby and pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 6:37 p.m.

The CHP stated that the rider was not wearing a helmet, and there were no witnesses to the collision. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be a factor, according to CHP.
