Third annual ‘Read and Run Relay’ raises $18,000 for school
On March 6 Almond Acres Charter Academy held its 3rd Annual Read & Run Relay. Over 250 students participated by reading and collecting pledges throughout the month of February, then on March 6, the fundraiser culminated with the final event.
Students could either continue to read and log pages or run and track laps. Over 40 AACA parents were on hand as volunteers to keep the event running safely and efficiently. All participants were rewarded with t-shirts designed by AACA student, William Goldammer.
The Read & Run Relay is AACA’s second largest annual fundraiser, raising over $15,000 through student pledges this year. In addition to student pledges, three local businesses and organizations, Aflac Representative Madonna Dailey, The Optimist Club of Paso Robles, and Zenaida Cellars, donated matching funds, as well as race day support.
