Ruth Haynes named Roblan of the Month
Haynes to be honored at Paso Robles Chamber membership mixer
Ruth Haynes.
The Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce announced its selection for Roblan of the Month as Ruth Haynes, who will be honored at the upcoming membership mixer, June 10 at Harris Stage Lines at 5:30 p.m.
The chamber honors worthy Roblans each month for their service and dedication to the betterment of the community.
Haynes moved to Paso when her husband Vern was transferred to Camp Roberts in 1969. She and Vern have five children. She went to Cuesta College and Cal Poly while raising her children and got her bachelor’s in education and her teaching credential. She was a school teacher for over 19 years and retired from Georgia Brown Elementary in 1998.
Soon after moving to Paso Robles started her volunteer efforts with the following community involvement:
· Belongs to the Coast Counties Ministers Wives Group
· Member of Delta Kappa Gama
· Awarded the Carol Conway Spirit Award in 1981
· Awarded the Phenomenal Women’s Award in 2008
· Honored by the Salvation Army in 2014, for 45 years of selfless service
· Serves on the Board Committee with the Salvation Army
Other volunteer efforts include; Cancer Drive, Lifestyle Recovery, the Red Cross and the Tree of Life. She also tutors reading to those in need. Each December, she visits nursing homes and convalescent hospitals bringing magazines to the patients. Her husband, Vern Haynes, is pastor of the local church Family Praise and Worship.

Ruth is the sweetest, kindest, caring, Christian woman I have ever had the privledge of working along side. The Salvation Army has been blessed with her guidance and leadership for 45 years+. Her influence in SLO County is beyond way beyond normal! Congrats Ruth – as usual job well done! I love you beyond measure!
