Caledonia Days brings crowd to Adobe in San Miguel

Dutch Oven Cook-off is main attraction at annual event
– The 2015 Caledonia Days and Dutch Oven Cook-off brought locals and visitors alike to the Rios-Caledonia Adobe in San Miguel on Sept. 26.

Vendors and Dutch Oven Cook-off participants arrived at the Adobe early in the morning to set up shop and start the fire under their kettles in anticipation of visitors that roamed the grounds for nearly six hours on Saturday.

Despite experiencing temperatures in the high-90s, the event enjoyed a large crowd throughout the day that “took a step back in time to enjoy bygone ways of bygone days.” From Dutch oven cooking and tastings, various food and drink offerings to music, skilled artisans and craftsmen, small engines and rock collection displays, there was something for everyone at this family-friendly event.

Why wasn't Native Son's Of the Golden West Mentioned, as a Sponser. As there was a lot of work that they did. Like set up, and clean up. As well as one of members did a lot to contact people, to make sure there was an event, as well as extra food and drink. It was too bad that the Band had to bail on us this year. But things happen as we all know. All in all it was a good event and very nice weather. Please don't miss out next year.
