Update: Flash flood warning issued for SLO County lifted

–Thursday’s flash flood warning for San Luis Obispo County was lifted by the National Weather Service. Parts of inland SLO County are still listed in the weather service’s warning spots for hazardous weather.
A moist and unstable air mass will bring the potential for strong thunderstorms to the mountains of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angles Counties as well as Antelope Valley this afternoon, and will result in the potential for flash flooding as well as mud and debris flows. Additionally, thunderstorms could produce gusty and erratic winds as well as hail.
According to ABC 30 in Fresno, parts of 1-5 over the Grapevine are closed due to mudslides caused by flash flooding yesterday. The I-5 is expected to be closed in that area all day today.

–A flash flood warning has been issued for South and Central San Luis Obispo county by the National Weather Service. A warning has also been issued to neighboring Santa Barbara County.
Doppler radar and automated gages have indicated that heavy rain was falling in these areas. Up to one half inch of rain has already come down in a ten minute period of time, and thunderstorms are likely to continue over the next three hours in some parts of the county.
The weather service warns drivers to turn around if they see flooded roads.
