    At-risk missing local man found in Buttonwillow

    At-risk missing person Florencio Perez Rodriguez was found Friday evening.

    The California Highway Patrol, Bakersfield Office, located on Friday evening an at-risk missing person from Paso Robles near Buttonwillow, Calif.

    Florencio Rodriguez was apparently involved in a traffic collision, but he was not injured in the incident. Steps were being taken Friday evening to reunite Mr. Rodriguez with his family.

    The Paso Robles Police Department is seeking the publics’ assistance with locating an at-risk voluntary missing adult. Florencio Perez Rodriguez, 78 years old, was reported missing on Friday at approximately 2:15 p.m.

    He is considered an at risk missing person due to his age and he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Rodriquez was last seen in the 100 block of Niblick Rd. and was driving a 2012 Ford Focus, four door, gray, with a license plate of: 7CDS998. His direction of travel is unknown and he had no plans to leave the immediate area.

    Florencio’s physical and clothing description are as follows:

    • Hispanic male adult, 78 years of age, 5’4” in height, 175 pounds, brown hair and brown
      eyes.
    • Currently wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, black pants, black slippers, black prescription
      glasses, with a blue hat with “Puerto Vallarta” printed on it.
    • Rodriguez may also be in the company of his dog, a black and brown Pug.
    • Rodriguez may not have identification, but wears a Medic Alert bracelet for Alzheimer’s.

     

    The Paso Robles Police Department with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol has activated the Emergency Alert System’s “Silver Alert”. The purpose of the Silver Alert program is to establish a quick response system designed to issue and coordinate alerts following the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of an elderly person, or a person who is developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired. The goal of a Silver Alert is to provide immediate information to the public about the missing person, including images or descriptions and the time and location last seen to speed the process to locate the person and return them to safety.
