Open house set for adult independent skills program

The Adult Independent Skills Program currently has 13 students ranging in age from 18-22. The students and staff moved to their new location on Feb. 1 thanks to an allocation in the district’s Capital Investment Plan that was approved by the school board in October.
The purpose of the program is to teach adult students independent living skills. The students spend time learning how to cook, clean, and take care of their personal spaces. Students also learn vocational and social skills, work in community jobs, and utilize public transportation.
