Mid-State Fair announces 2016 theme 

The California Mid-State Fair announced Friday that Freddy Cortez of Santa Maria won the fair’s theme contest and two season passes to the 2016 Mid-State Fair.

Cortez suggested Paso Pete become a super hero and that the Mid-State Fair celebrate fictional and real-life superheroes. The final theme chosen was “The Adventure Continues…”

The 2016 California Mid-State Fair runs July 20 through July 31.
