Local cub scouts given rover demonstration 

Jim Bean from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory came to Paso Robles with an early test version of the drive system for the Spirit and Opportunity Mars rovers which he demonstrated to the scouts.

–At their meeting last Friday evening at the Paso Robles Grange Hall, Cub Scouts from Pack 65 learned about the propulsion system for the Mars rovers.

Jim Bean from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory came to Paso Robles with an early test version of the drive system for the Spirit and Opportunity Mars rovers. Bean is part of the mobility team which is responsible for “everything that makes the rover move,” he said.
