–The 18th annual Paso Robles Rotary Winemakers’ Cook-off is set to take place at the Paso Robles Event Center on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 6-9 p.m.

This lively event includes great grilled bites from 30 local wineries, and of course, all of the food is paired with award winning wines from the Paso Robles region. Attendees are invited to sip and sample while they decide who gets their vote for the best barbecue cuisine.

In addition to the “People’s Choice” awards, well known judges from the food and wine industry will also present “Judges’ Choice” awards.

All proceeds from the cook-off go to the Harlow Ford Scholarship Foundation which funds scholarships for local high school seniors. Over the past 17 years, Paso Robles Rotary has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to deserving students.

Tickets are $85 for general admission, or $45 for designated drivers. For more information or to purchase tickets to the event, visit www.winemakerscookoff.com or call 1-877-755-7845.

Can't wait for the cookoff! The website has the current sponsors and the list of wineries will be updated soon. We have a few wineries that will be first timers to the event and I have it from good sources that the "bribes" for the popular vote could take on a whole new dimension this year…. You will have to get your tickets to find out.
