Fire in Atascadero destroys two homes

–Atascadero Fire and Police responded to a brush fire that engulfed two mobile homes at San Diego road at the south end of Atascadero Tuesday.

The mobile home park on San Diego road was evacuated, and Highway 101 was closed in both directions as a precaution.

The fire was contained later that afternoon. One structure was lost, one structure has major water and fire damage. No civilians or responders were injured. There is possibly 1 dog deceased, according to Atascadero Fire.
