All Chimney Fire evacuation orders lifted

Monterey County residents may return starting Monday at 5 p.m.

–Effective Monday August 29 at 5 p.m., all evacuation orders for the Chimney Fire will be lifted, according to Cal Fire. This includes evacuation orders for the Bryson Hesperia area of Monterey County, including all areas south and west of Lake San Antonio. Residents will be able to return to their properties and all road closures will be removed.

Members of the general public are reminded to use caution due to large numbers of fire resources remaining in the area and to respect private property rights of these communities.
