Cuesta College to host debate-viewing events
North County and SLO campuses host debate-viewing and voter registration
Seeking to engage students and the general public in the current political process, Cuesta College in Paso Robles will host a debate-viewing event for the third and final presidential debate on Wed., Oct. 19, starting at 6 p.m. in Dallon’s Hall room N3102. A similar event takes place simultaneously on the San Luis Obispo Campus in room 5401. The events are free to attend.
“We expect approximately 100 people to come out and watch the debate,” said Cuesta College Student Life & Leadership Coordinator Dr. Anthony Gutierrez. “We hope to provide a fun way for students to find out how their views compare with others and get a range of perspectives on the issues.”
Voter registration events will occur on October 20 and 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at various locations on the San Luis Obispo Campus and North County Campus. According to Gutierrez, Cuesta College students will walk around campus throughout the designated time period to talk with students and use tablets to register them.
