Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation receives $14,300 for solar project
Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation (PRYAF) announced today a gift of $14,300 from “100+ Women Who Care,” a dynamic group of philanthropic women, who pool their semi-annual donations and vote for the projects that speak the most to their members.
The “100+ Women Who Care” gift is a designated to PRYAF’s solar project. The organization plans to convert its arts academy and theater facility completely to solar over the next year. Generating solar energy will save the non-profit $800 per month in electrical costs. These saved funds will be used to enable PRYAF to continue fulfilling its mission of providing free visual and performing Arts Classes year-round.
“We are thrilled to receive this generous gift from ‘100+ Women Who Care’ which allows us to serve so many more children and teens in our FREE Visual and Performing Arts Program”, says Emily Jagger, Director of Development, PRYAF. “It really is the gift that keeps giving, and literally opens PRYAF’s doors, classrooms and stage to students who might never have had the opportunity to participate because of financial barriers. There is a need for a creative outlet for children in our community. It’s wonderful when a group like “100+ Women Who Care” can come together and make a powerful impact like this!”
Additional funds are needed for PRYAF to go solar. An anonymous donor has agreed to match the community’s donations dollar for dollar to reach a total Solar Campaign goal of $60,000. To contribute to this worthwhile project, please contact PRYAF.
For 15 years, PRYAF has filled a void left by school budget cuts, and continues to offer Dance, Music, Art and Drama Classes in its FREE visual and performing arts program to area youth. For more information, please visit www.pryaf.org or call 805-238-5825.
