Justin Vineyards & Winery awards $50,000 to North County classrooms
43 teachers receive funding for needed supplies
– Justin School Grants, a program of Justin Vineyards & Winery, announced that $50,000 has been awarded to 43 classrooms in the North San Luis Obispo County area. The classroom projects that received funding range from robotics kits and art supplies to new physical education equipment. In total, Justin School Grants will benefit nearly 4,000 students across 20 schools.
The Justin School Grants program was launched earlier this year out of a desire to support the causes that matter most to their employees. Justin employees have volunteered their time and contributed generously to schools and educational nonprofits over the years, and the Justin School Grants program recognizes and expands upon these efforts, according to the company.
“We are committed to giving back to the North County community and to the important causes identified by our employees,” said David Ricanati, President of JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery. “Education is critical to all of us, and we’re proud to support teachers in helping their students thrive.”
One recipient of a Justin School Grant was a second-grade class at Cappy Culver Elementary in Paso Robles. The funds were used to purchase tangram puzzles and number tiles that help students practice math concepts. “Tangram has been a favorite and a constant rotation during math centers,” said teacher Jackie McCuistion. “The students are beyond thrilled every day to go to centers and the excitement I witness every day is priceless.”
