Murderer denied parole

The crime occurred in the City of San Luis Obispo the day before Thanksgiving 1988. Russell and Daniels were co-workers and he was married to another woman. Russell had been convicted of domestic violence in 1987 with Daniels as the victim and had spent some time in jail. At the time of her death, she had a restraining order against Russell. He had also previously been convicted of assaulting a girlfriend in Chicago with a knife, and trying to set her apartment on fire.
Deputy District Attorney Linda Dunn appeared at the prison for the hearing and argued against parole. During the hearing, Russell expressed little remorse and insisted the deceased victim was the real aggressor. He is now 57 years old and will be eligible for his next parole hearing in 2022.
