Residents vote on Creston Road improvements

–The final discussion Thursday night wrapped up a series of public meetings on Creston Road improvements in Paso Robles.

Steve Weinberger of W-Trans in Oakland facilitated the discussion at Lewis Middle School. Thursday night, residents voted on three alternatives:

    (A) a combination of 3-5 lanes for traffic.
    (B) a five-lane Creston Road. or
    (C) “just pave it.”

    Option A costs $8-11 million.
    Option B, the five-lane option $23-25 million
Option C, “Just Pave It”, costs $4-6 million

Each plan would accommodate the projected build-out of 44,000 people planned for Paso Robles growth. Residents cast the most votes for Option A, which would provide for 3-5 lanes and improve sidewalks and bike lanes.

Paso Robles City Public Works Director Dick McKinley says the week-long process was productive.

This summer, Creston Road will be paved to improve the rough spots. That paving will be done so that it works long term for the road’s improvement.
