    Woman sentenced to more than 2 years in state prison for arson 


    –Debra Collins, age 58, was sentenced today to state prison for a term of 2 years 8 months by the Honorable Craig Van Rooyen of the San Luis Obispo Superior Court. On March 13, 2017, Collins pled no contest to charges of arson.

    Collins was charged with starting various fires on Nacimiento Lake Drive during the time period of July 2016 to August 2016. Her plea and sentence required her to admit a serious felony or strike and will require lifetime registration as an arson offender.

    The case was investigated by Cal Fire and prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Lindsey Bittner.
