Award-winning singer-songwriter Dulcie Taylor will be the featured act at Vines on the Marycrest in Paso Robles on Oct. 5.

Songwriters At Play holds showcases featuring one act and others playing 4-song sets every Sunday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. On Oct. 5, award-winning singer-songwriter Dulcie Taylor will be the featured act at Vines on the Marycrest, located at 5076 Mustard Creek Road in Paso Robles. Special guests include Berkeley’s fiddler-folksinger John Roy Zat.

Taylor may be new to the Central Coast, but she’s already played many of the Songwriters At Play showcases, headlined local concerts, and received critical raves. She won top honors at this year’s New Times Music Awards, taking home the first place trophy for Best Song.

A native of South Carolina, Dulcie played major venues from Washington DC’s Kennedy Center to Austin TX’s Cactus Cafe. She has shared the stage with a long list of artists, including Bonnie Raitt, Jerry Lee Lewis, Asleep at the Wheel, Vern Gosdin, and Kathy Mattea. Sing Out magazine says of Taylor, “She has a fine, flexible storyteller’s style and a graceful voice with the flavor of her South Carolina roots.”

All ages are welcome and there is no cover charge. Vines on the Marycrest is located off Lake Nacimiento Road, across the street from Chronic Cellars. (805) 237-0378.
