Goldens in the Park event July 8
The public is invited to come see over 300 Golden Retrievers all in one place at one time. The 2017 Goldens in the Park event will be held at Laguna Lake Park in San Luis Obispo, Saturday, July 8th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Admission is free and all dog breeds welcome. Organizers invite everyone to bring a four legged family members and come out for some fun in the sun.
There will be a dog/owner parade, pet vendors, doggie pools, obstacle course and lot of dog contests. The Golden King and Queen will be honored and there is a raffle with lots of great prizes. Dog contests include best tricky fetch, the Golden gauntlet, Golden steeplechase.
Join all three contests for $10 or $5 each. Proceeds from the contests benefit the Mobile Pet Pantry and SLO County Golden Retrievers. The Mobile Pet Pantry works hand-in-hand with the Senior Nutrition Program of SLO County to get pet food out to those in need. This allows many seniors and shut-ins who rely solely on these ‘meals on wheels’ programs to keep and feed their pets without compromising their own health and nutrition.
