Man pleads not guilty to felony child sex charges

–A Paso Robles man arrested in a Santa Maria prostitution sting on Aug. 10 pleaded not guilty to felony child sex charges at Santa Maria Superior Court on Monday, according to the Santa Maria Times.

61-year-old Edward Dean Scheuerman was one of eight men arrested at an undisclosed Santa Maria hotel during the undercover operation and is charged with felony offenses of contacting/arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes, and sending harmful matter to a minor. He is also charged with a misdemeanor offense of agreeing to engage in an act of prostitution, according to the report.
