Shandon students treated to special concert by Café Musique

San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. James Brescia, is working to put the arts back in schools. Utilizing a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Dr. Brescia’s hope is to expose all school districts to the arts. “Exposing students to the arts is a win for the entire community academically, economically, and socially,” said Brescia.
Currently, SLO County Schools are implementing eight different Career and Technical Education, (CTE), pathways. These pathways are intended to provide students with hands-on, real world training for professional careers. Music is part of The Arts, Media, and Entertainment Pathway. The county Office of Education will continue to facilitate these and other arts opportunities throughout the year.
