Coastal Cleanup Day planned on Sept. 16

    – Coastal Cleanup Day takes place on Saturday, Sept. 16 starting at 9 a.m., and is an international event that is focused on engaging volunteers from local communities to clean up trash and debris in beaches, rivers, and streams around the world. In California, Coastal Cleanup Day holds the distinction of drawing out the most participation of any volunteer event over its thirty-year history. ECOSLO works with the California Coastal Commission to bring the campaign for healthy coasts, shorelines, and oceans into our community. There are 30 volunteer cleanup sites to choose from in SLO County.

Please dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle and sunscreen. Create less waste by bringing your reusable supplies such as litter grabbers, a bucket and gloves. ECOSLO will have some supplies available.
