Hundreds attend living nativity in Templeton
–Hundreds of North County residents attended Living Nativity performances over the weekend at Templeton’s First Presbyterian Church. This was the 11th annual Living Nativity ceremony outdoors on Main Street in Templeton.
The performance included actors dressed to portray Joseph and Mary, Bethlehem’s shepherds, and the Three Wise Men. A pregnant Mary rode a small donkey onto the set. Sheep and camels also took part in the ceremony. After the event, families ate cookies and drank hot chocolate to warm themselves in the cool evening temperatures.
The Reverend Charlie Little conceived of the Living Nativity. It has dramatically grown in popularity with performances at 7 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A second performance was added at 5:45 to accommodate the crowds.
